Generate construction-ready Revit families in minutes.

Turn manufacturer shop-drawing PDFs into parametric, validation-checked Revit families — transformers today, switchgear in active development. Nobody else does this.

The problem

Modeling content is where BIM schedules quietly bleed out.

Every family built by hand is hours your team isn't coordinating, and a chance for the model to drift from what gets installed.

Hours lost to manual modeling

Detailers spend whole days redrawing geometry from PDFs that a manufacturer already published. Multiply that across every submittal and the calendar disappears.

Inconsistent data & standards

Parameters, naming and LOD shift family to family and modeler to modeler. Schedules don't add up and downstream automation has nothing reliable to read.

Clashes found in the field, not the model

When clearance zones and connectors are missing, coordination passes clean and the conflict shows up on site — as an RFI, a delay and a change order.

Workflow

From drawing to family in five steps.

Drop in source content and APEX returns a coordination-correct family — every step is auditable, none of it is hand-modeled.

01

Upload shop drawing or submittal

Feed APEX a manufacturer PDF, submittal package or cut sheet. No template prep, no manual tracing — just the source you already have on hand.

02

AI reads geometry, tags & dimensions

Computer vision extracts overall geometry, dimension strings, connector locations and the typed data buried in tables and title blocks.

03

Builds a parametric, validation-checked family

APEX authors a native parametric family with driven dimensions and flex points — real, data-rich content, not a placeholder box.

04

Embeds data, clearance zones & nested survey points

Electrical, mechanical and procurement parameters are written in, maintenance clearances are modeled, and survey points are nested for layout.

05

Review, validate & export field-ready content

Every extracted field is confidence-scored — amber flags low confidence, and nothing enters the model unapproved. Six automated checks then confirm geometry, data and clearance, and every AI write is a named Revit transaction one Ctrl+Z undoes.

Parametric, coordination-correct geometry

Families come out as true parametric content — driven dimensions, real connectors and accurate solids that flex to match the spec, not approximations a coordinator has to fight.

Every family runs six automated checks — geometry and connectors, embedded data completeness, and modeled clearance — and every human-verified family to date has passed all six in Revit 2025.

Use cases

Built for the trades that live and die by content.

Starting with the electrical equipment wedge — transformer shop drawings today, switchgear next — and expanding across MEP from there.

Electrical — today

Transformer families with voltage data, clearances and connectors modeled to spec. Per-section switchgear geometry is in active development.

Data Centers

Born on data-center MEP work — repeatable electrical equipment content, flexed across halls as coverage grows.

Field & layout — today

Families carry nested survey points with CSV export compatible with Trimble field workflows, so layout comes straight from the model.

Mechanical — roadmap

AHUs, pumps and equipment skids are on the roadmap once the electrical wedge is proven end to end.

See it generate your family.

Bring a real transformer shop drawing to a live demo and watch APEX turn it into a parametric, validation-checked Revit family — in minutes.
